Such is Life
Staying positive and motivated is an ongoing, up hill battle for me lately. Life can throw so much at you at one time it’s hard to catch it all, remember it and keep things in organized.
I long for the freedom of being able to work from home and have my own business. Unfortunately, I am one of the many young adults that has discovered that the degree I earned in college has nothing really to do with what my life long dreams and goals are now.
As a young black woman, I am dealing with a lot on my plate at once. Building a business, planning a wedding and finding a 9 to 5. It is clear to me that I must take care of what needs to be done in order to stay afloat, but I want so much more from life. As I most currently put an end to my first “corporate” world job recently, I no longer can see myself working at a job for the rest of my life that I don’t really have an interest in or passion for.
Staying in touch with family and friends, cleaning, cooking, job searching, trying to go out and have fun when possible…uhhhhhh it can be all so overwhelming! It seems there is never enough time in the day and week. I love that song by Alicia Keys “Superwoman”, I saw her perform the song in concert a few weeks ago and it brought me to tears. Sometimes us women can get very heavy hearted and bogged down with the responsibilities and what we want out of life versus what we have to do at that point in time it can be stressful.
I have to often stop myself and realize I’m not doing this by myself and that it is okay to ask for help.
I know it is in me, I just have to get back that motivation and drive I have that sometimes get lost along the way.
