"Here Again", A Short Piece by Nicole Alicia

Good Evening Everyone,

This evening I thought I would post a little segment of a short story I'm thinking about developing. Tell me how you like it or if you don't. Later :)

Right after she had entered her apartment there was a knock on the door. She wondered who it could be at this time of day. Did someone follow her to her apartment? She knew it couldn't be David. They hadn't spoken since the little "incident" as she liked to refer to it. Using the word "cheat" or "cheating" sounded so dirty to her. But it was the truth. She'd never imagined she'd be involved with someone who would do something so disheartening to her.

She slipped off her heels and quietly scurried to the door to look out the peep hole. She was being careful with every movement not to make a sound. She crept up to the peep-hole and looked out to see him standing there with a bundle of flowers. Her heart felt like it was about to jump out her chest when she heard him knock again.

She had made up her mind not to open it. She wasn't ready yet. Suddenly she heard nothing and then the rustling of the flowers and then a shadow appeared right center under her door. She sat and listened for awhile. Nothing. She crept back up to the door to see if he was gone and he was.
