6 Shows I've Binge Watched This Summer
Mainly this Summer I have been plugging away at editing my first novel. However, in between watching Sesame Street, Elmo's World and various other cartoons with my son, I sometime get to watch what I want. Emphasis on the sometime!
Let me tell you though, Amazon Prime Instant Video and Netflix streaming is the truth! (no I'm not a paid advertiser, just and enthusiast)
We have cable, but I don't watch it as much as I used to, other than to get my little reality TV fix.
Here are just a few shows that I have been watching
(sometimes binge watching on a occasional day off work):
Graceland (On Netflix)
I just started watching this with my husband at the beginning of the week. We're really into crime shows aka cop shows/movies. In the rough, it's about a house of FBI agents that are all placed in the same house together and do different undercover assignments.
The rookie/newbie in the house later on gets placed as a mole to investigate on of his fellow colleagues. Interesting, to see where this is going. We are on Season 2 now.
'Treme (On Amazon Prime)
After seeing this show it made me go back and do some research on Hurricane Katrina and it's aftermath, largely what the show is about.
It takes different characters lives (many of them that played on The Wire) and rewinds back and forth between their lives pre-Katrina and the aftermath. Not only how it affected them but the city of New Orleans.
It also shed light on the corruption and dirt that went on during those times. I loved this show that was also written by David Simon, who wrote the show The Wire.
The Wire (On Amazon Prime)
I watched this show in bits and pieces when it came on Sunday nights when I was in College. I rented Seasons 1 - 4 while awhile back but never finished, so I decided to start again!
Warning ladies, please don't ever start a conversation with me about this show....it may never end! LOL
True Blood (Amazon Prime)
This one I was reluctant to watch at first, not because of the blood and gore. I am actually a horror fan! Just the sheer cliche' of vampires and such turned me off. But after a few episodes, I got hooked.
The Unbreakable Kimmie Schmidt (Netflix)
Four words, laughed- the- entire- time! Tina Fey is a genius! This show had me cracking up until I almost peed my pants. I can't wait for the new season!
Orange is the New Black or ONTB (Netflix)
Yes, I'm guilty! This show I started watching from the beginning in the hospital while on bedrest. I love the multiple story lines and characters! My favorite is still Suzanne aka "Crazy Eyes". Maybe because I can relate a bit...I don't know. I think we all have a bit of her in us, somewhere.
I just now noticed this show is written by Jenji Kohan, who also wrote the show, "Weeds", which I used to watch too until I got tired of fast forwarding nearly every episode around the 3rd season that just got really old! (If you've watched Weeds you'll see similar trends in ONTB)
Looking forward to Season 4 already! I can't wait to see if all of the ladies get locked up after their little freedom run into the lake!
A lot of good movies that we hadn't seen and weren't widely advertised like, "The Cobbler" with Adam Sandler and Method Man. Also another good one was "Life of Crime", with Mos Def (he's always going to be Mos Def to me, not Yasiin Bey).
Just a few good things I've watched...
It's always nice to take a break from life and just watch some TV right?
Is there anything you're watching right now on TV and you just can't stop? Share with me!
