I'm a bit into Scary Movies!
My husband thinks I'm a bit weird because I'm into other things like well-written literature and I love vintage stuff. But I like ghost stories, stuff to do with hauntings, scary monsters, stories about psychopathic killers and well you get the point!
I'm not really for the blood, guts and gore.Although I am a "Walking Dead" fan, that's a bit of a different category I'd like to think.
I like the cinematic effects and yes may catch a good laugh when people fall when running from the monster or scary creature. What can I say?!
Yes, that's me that screaming at the TV, "Get up girl, run! He's coming"!
So in all the horror, thriller, scary movies I've seen so far here are my Top Five Favorites! They are not in any particular order just my fav's!
(Disclaimer: I don't really like anything dealing with demons, exorcisms, etc it's just not my thing. Also yes most of these are old school...)
Sleepaway Camp (1983)- I was born in the 80's during the whole Friday the 13th era but I had never seen this one until about 5 or 6 years ago. The little girl in the movie appeared so innocent and shy. The twist at the end was what got me!
Amityville Horror (1979)- The original, not the remake. This creeped me the heck out! I had googled this because I knew it was based on a true story and it super really creeped me out then.
Poltergeist (1982)- Still to this day won't watch this in the dark. Saw this as a kid in like '88 or '89 messed me up! Didn't sleep in my own room with any of my stuffed animals in site for a long time and slept with the closet light on in my room! There wasn't gonna be no clown grabbin' me in the dark!
The Shining (1980)- Psycho type stuff! I hated the fact that they were stuck there, with nobody, in the middle of nowhere. Creepy factor #1! That's a fear of mine is to be trapped somewhere. Then who can forget those spooky little twins!
Jeepers Creepers (2001) - This one got me because of that nasty, fugly monster! I mean what's worse than being swooped up by a mutant bat creature! Then what he was doing with the corpses in the basement?!
I think that about does it for me. Drama, creatures, people coming up missing, suspense action. Yes I'll watch them anytime of the year but Halloween really is the occasion to be scared!
